Library announces summer reading program theme

Readers of all ages will explore all things underground this summer as Cathlamet Public Library presents “Every Hero Has a Story” during their summer library program. Activities may include costume creation, group games, physical challenges, art projects, science and engineering experiments, and more.

The 2015 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story times, and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program.

The Library’s “Every Hero has a Story” programs will be held Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m., June 24 through August 12.

The weekly schedule is:

· June 24--Heroes Throughout History:

Kid and Animal Heroes in History.

· July 1--Greek Heroes & Tall Tale Heroes.

· July 8--Community Heroes:

Be a Hero/Thank a Hero.

My Community is Full of Heroes

· July 15--Animals are Heroes, Too.

· July 22--Superheroes to the Rescue:

Superhero Fans Unite.

Invent a new Superhero

· July 29--Bam! Pow! Read! Superhero

Training Camp.

· August 5--Spectacular Sidekicks (turn in reading records).

· August 12--Awards Party and Hero movie.

Registration for “Every Hero Has a Story” began on June 8 and is still ongoing. For more information, call the library at 360-795-3254 or visit their website, . Regular library hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 2-5 p.m. All programs are free of charge.
