A contractor will begin next Monday replacing five streetlights along Cathlamet's Main Street.
Town Public Works Superintendent Duncan Cruickshank said Tuesday that the work should take about five days.
The contractor will replace the old poles and lights. Much of the work will require closure of parking along one side of the street, Cruickshank said.
The contractor will also have to cut into the sidewalk around the bases of poles to make electrical connections, so pedestrian traffic will be disrupted.
The lights will resemble lights along Broadway and 3rd streets and are designed to focus light downward and not into the sky.
