The Wahkiakum Mule Track and Field team traveled to Napavine on Friday to compete in the Central 2B Sub District Meet.
Nevan Bingham took fourth place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.77. He got a new PR of 24.13 in the 200 meter and placed third. He qualified for district in both events.
Ethan Cothren placed sixth in the shot put with a new personal record of 39-05.5. He and Tarah Wisner, who took sixth in the girls' shot put competition with a toss of 28-11 will move on to district.
Shona Heywood finished sixth in the 200 meter with a PR of 30.01. Cheyenne Barton got a PR in the 400 meter and a fourth place finish with a time of 1:06.77. She qualified for district as did Aly Kirzy who placed fifth in the 3200 meter, finishing in 15:27.74. Shelbie Abbot took fifth place in the 100 meter hurdles with her best time all year, 18.96.
Rory Heywood competed in the high jump and triple jump and took third in both events to qualify for district. She cleared 4-06 in the high jump and flew 30-07.00 in the triple jump, a new personal record.
The 4x100 relay team of R. Heywood, Abbot, S. Heywood and Barton placed third with a time of 55.54. The same four competed in the 4x200 relay and finished in fifth place with a time of 1:58.96. The 4x400 relay team of Abbot, Kirzy, Barton and S. Heywood took fourth place with a time of 5:43.85. The girls' 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams will compete at district.
The District IV 2B Championship takes place this afternoon (Thursday) in Raymond.
