Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

May 11 — 9:06 a.m. A bicyclist on Puget Island reported that he was concerned about two dogs that were barking and jumping up and down behind a fence on Puget Island. An officer made contact with the owner, checked out the fence which he found to be excellent and the dogs, which he found to be friendly. The dog owner was willing to have the bicyclist or anyone else over to meet the dogs. 9:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with severe abdominal pain. 10:24 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that his pain medications had been stolen. 1:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was shaking and having trouble breathing after a possible alcohol overdose. 1:24 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a missing dog. 4:15 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business. Deputies investigated and found the business to be secure and the monitoring company checked for movement on their cameras and found none. 4:48 p.m. A caller reported that an improperly parked vehicle was causing a minor traffic issue on a Cathlamet street. 4:58 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on SR 4 near Skamokawa. 5:33 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident after a medical alarm was activated.

May 12 — 8:27 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a man who had fallen from a roof in the Elochoman Valley. 10:05 a.m. A caller reported that a cow was almost under water in a Puget Island slough. 10:32 a.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to the report of a cow in a Puget Island slough. 11:50 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle outside a vacant residence in Rosedale. 2:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Skamokawa resident who had fallen. 4:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident with a kidney problem. 5:45 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a spouse was sending harassing texts and threatening to take the kids. She was referred to a domestic violence advocate.

May 13 — 10:53 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a phone scam. 12:24 p.m. A caller reported that he had been threatened by a resident in the Skamokawa area. 12:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with a heart problem to the hospital. 6:28 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a driver who had been pulled over for speeding and was having a health issue. 7:17 p.m. A caller reported that a boat had been beached at Vista Park.

May 14 — 3:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Skamokawa resident with abdominal pain and high blood pressure. 8:28 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a patient with chest pain from the Cathlamet clinic to the hospital. 12:45 p.m. A caller reported a potentially dangerous dog on a Puget Island roadway. 1:19 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a phone scam. 5:28 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that an individual had violated a protection order. 9:02 p.m. A caller reported a loud party in the Deep River area. 11:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident with high blood pressure and heart rate.

May 15 — 9:45 a.m. A caller reported excessive smoke in the Cathlamet area; the Cathlamet Fire Department responded and found a controlled burn. 6:46 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle heading east on SR 4 in the Deep River area. 7:40 p.m. Several cows were seen in the middle of a Puget Island roadway. 8:28 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious male pacing in front of a Cathlamet office.

May 16 — 12:57 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business. Deputies responded and found the building to be secure. 4:44 a.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on Puget Island. 8:45 a.m. A caller reported that a bull was caught in a wire fence in the Skamokawa area. A responsible party was contacted. 11:29 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a theft. 12:54 p.m. A power outage was reported in the Little Cape Horn area; the PUD was notified. 5:06 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a theft. 6:02 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a report of a brush fire; it turned out to be a controlled burn. 6:15 p.m. A caller reported that he and his girlfriend had been harassed by a woman on Main Street in Cathlamet. 6:26 p.m. A caller reported that she had been assaulted by a woman on Main Street. 6:37 p.m. The Grays River ambulance transported an elderly Grays River resident who was ill to the hospital in Long Beach. 10:04 p.m. A caller was concerned that a fight was brewing between two intoxicated patrons at a Cathlamet restaurant.

May 17 — 11:19 a.m. An alarm was activated at Skamokawa business. Deputies investigated and found the building secure. 1:00 p.m. A caller reported an injured adult bald eagle stuck in blackberry bushes alongside a road in Rosburg. 3:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had a seizure. 4:37 p.m. A Beaver Creek resident reported a power outage. The PUD was notified. 4:58 p.m. A caller reported that a car had struck a bald eagle near Nassa Point. 8:18 p.m. A Deep River resident reported a power outage. The PUD was notified.
