PUD approves raise for general manager

Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved a 3.5 percent salary adjustment for General Manager Dave Tramblie after a recent performance review, bringing his monthly wage to $10,402.46.

Tramblie gave a quick update, sharing that the PUD is continuing to negotiate with the Town of Cathlamet on the water purchase agreement.

He also shared that the electric crew completed a project at Skamokawa Vista Park to extend a line to 10 new RV spots, and the water crew is preparing for a big project on Shannon Road this summer to replace pipe.

“It’s a little expensive,” Tramblie said, “but it is a project that needs to be done.”

Auditor Erin Wilson shared that there was currently $1,406 in the Residential Energy Assistance Program fund. In the last six weeks, they have had $340 in donations and have used $1,092 to assist clients.

The next PUD Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for June 2 at 8:30 a.m.

I've printed out this article and will post it at city hall in Redding, California which has a population of about 90,000 and only pays its Director of Public Works $115,000 & its Police Chief $97,000. What's Wahkiakum County population, 4,000? And you have enough money for salaries like Tramblie's? Seems pretty rich to an outsider.

Tramblie makes over $120,000 p/year, plus benefits I'm sure. Wow! No wonder the PUD must charge so much for new hook ups, with the resulting lack thereof. His salary is more than what his counterparts in much larger counties in California make. It's past time for Wahkiakum County employees to get off the gravy train and find real employment.
