Senior golfer Elliot Haney had a one stroke lead after six holes when his drive on the par five caught a tree and landed out of bounds 24 inches from safety. That two stroke penalty cost him medalist honors as he finished tied for second with a 42, losing to Kenneth Sheldon 41.
Mule freshman Bryce Good shot 51 and finished sixth out of the 14 players including Ilwaco and North Beach High Schools.
The Wahkiakum Mules play in the District Championship (where eight players will qualify for State) at Newaukum Valley Golf Course on May 19th and 20th in Chehalis. Elliot Haney led the Mules to a fourth place team trophy finishing eighth at state in 2014.
