Robert Lowell "Jake" Trimble

Robert Lowell “Jake” Trimble passed away April 28, 2015 in Olympia, WA. He was born November 15, 1927 in Portland, OR to Robert and Frances Trimble. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School and attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. On September 2, 1950 he married Dorothy Lugenbeal. He worked at the Simpson Salmon Hatchery in Matlock, WA, and Nemah Salmon Hatchery in Naselle, WA.

Jake traveled extensively throughout his life including major excursions to Palestine, Nepal, Tibet and China. He was an avid mountaineer, climbing every major peak in the Pacific Northwest and including an attempt at Mt. Everest at 85 years old. His love of hiking took him into the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges, as well as hiking Hadrian’s Wall in England, Abraham’s Walk in Palestine and St. Paul’s Walk in Turkey.

Jake is survived by his children, Fran (Jack) Mikaloff of Carbondale, CO, Teresa Trimble of Olympia, Tim Trimble (Stacey) of Montesano, Lorri Trimble (Bob Bryant) of Olympia, and Faith Trimble (Doug Miller) of Olympia; 10 grandchildren; and sister, Karen Mary Brown of Canby, OR. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy on March 20, 2010; son, Lance Trimble; and brother, Derrill Trimble.
