Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Mary Moonen's students at J.A. Wendt Elementary School have been learning a little art history as they express themselves and play in her art classes. Moonen has focused on a different artist every year. In the past, the students have learned about Monet and Van Gogh, but this year's focus was Pablo Picasso and his abstract style of cubism. Each student selected a Picasso print that they liked and created their own version, most students focusing on one of Picasso's faces. The students' work lines the halls of the elementary school.
