Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Redmen Hall in Skamokawa will present the work of one of Wahkiakum County's premium artists. Carol Peacock will show her work opening on May 2.
Peacock spent her formative years in Europe studying art and architecture setting her on a future as an artist. After studying at UC Berkeley, she spent several years in San Francisco working in the rich artistic environment there, then moved to an art colony- Eureka Springs- in Arkansas. While working there she displayed her art in many one woman exhibits in major cities winning several prestigious awards.
She moved to Cathlamet in 2011 to be close to family and is a member of the Tsuga Art Gallery.
This exhibit represents the work she has done in Wahkiakum County.
The exhibit will run from May 2 to June 14. Meet the artist at the opening from 1-3 p.m., on May 2. Refreshments will be served. Redmen Hall is located at 1394 SR4 in Skamokawa. For more information call the hall at 795-3007.
