Auditions set for Missoula Chyildren's Theatre

The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) has been touring extensively for 40 years now from Montana to Japan and will visit nearly 1,200 communities this year with up to 47 teams of Tour Actor/Directors. A tour team arrives in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, props and makeup, everything it takes to put on a play, except the cast.

The team holds an open audition and casts 50-60 local students to perform the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented on Saturday. Also included in the residency are three enrichment workshops focusing on creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self esteem.

The show this year will be The Wizard of Oz. Tryouts begin at 3:15 p.m. on April 20 in the J.A. Wendt multi-purpose room. All students K-12 are invited to the rehearsal. The two performances will be on Saturday, April 25 at 3 and 5:30 p.m.
