The Wahkiakum Mule baseball team returned to play after spring break by winning both games in a double header against Onalaska on Saturday.
The Lady Mules traveled to Seattle to play Onalaska at the University of Washington. They also played at home against Onalaska on Tuesday. The Eagle did not receive a report for either game.
The Mules baseball team beat the Loggers in game one, 12-2 and took the nightcap 17-2.
Zac Brown pitched all five innings of the first game, striking out nine and with one earned run. He was 4-4 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI.
At bat, catcher Joey Moore was 1-3 with a single, Luke Brown was 2-3 with an RBI, Terris Record was 3-3 with two doubles and 5 RBI. Brandon Budd also went 3-3 and drove in three runs.
Terris Record pitched three innings of the second game. He struck out five and got the win. Zac Brown pitched the final two innings and struck out three.
At bat, Moore went 2-4 and drove in two runs. Zac Brown hit a triple and was 2-3 with three RBI. Terris Record was 2-2 with three RBI and a double. Cody Terpsma went 1-4 and drove in three runs.
“I really liked the aggressiveness we had at the plate,” Coach Marc Niemeyer said. “We had several errors that need to be cleaned up but the conditions were tough.”
Weather permitting, both Mule teams traveled to Napavine on Wednesday.
Baseball and softball teams will face Pe Ell at home on Monday.
