Chamber calling for dedicated planners

It’s time to start planning for this summer’s Bald Eagle Days Festival. The Wahkiakum County Chamber is seeking creative, energetic, and dedicated folks who are interested in serving on the 2015 planning committee.

The first meeting is slated for Wednesday, April 15, at 5 p.m., at the Cathlamet Community Center, 101 Main Street. Chamber members and community members are encouraged to attend the meetings and join the 2015 planning committee. Responsibilities will include determining this year’s theme, Grand Marshal, family activities, kids activities, and more.

Planning committee meetings will occur twice a month, and then will be held more frequently until the event draws closer. Volunteers are needed for many aspects of the festival; this would be a great opportunity for high school students to accumulate volunteer hours for college applications and other high school requirements.

For persons unable to attend the first meeting but would like to provide input, call the chamber at 360-795-9996 or send an email to wchamber@cni.net.

The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting local business, encouraging economic development, and fostering community interaction and involvement.
