Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
March 2 — 9:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa resident who was having chest pain. 10:30 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa resident who had fallen. 12:21 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle without appropriate tags parked in a disabled spot in Cathlamet. 2:26 p.m. Suspicious activity was reported at the marina in Cathlamet. 5:18 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that a neighbor’s dog was on her property and injuring her animals. 5:19 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a power outage. The PUD was notified. 7:29 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading westbound on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 10:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was bleeding and had abdominal pain.
March 3 — 8:28 a.m. A Skamokawa resident complained that a neighbor’s horses had gotten loose and were in her field. 11:42 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a resident who had cut himself while using a table saw. 3:21 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a neighbor’s cows were out. 4:08 p.m. A Cathlamet resident requested that a deputy stand by while she retrieved her belongings from a home. 4:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident with chest pain. 4:43 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading eastbound near County Line Park.
March 4 — 10:17 a.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop. 12:31 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported finding a handgun in his son’s vehicle. 4:36 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a Cathlamet address when a fire alarm was activated. The resident had been cooking.
March 5 — 8:20 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was having difficulty breathing. 1:12 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone had fraudulently used his social security number. 2:59 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that someone had been trespassing on his land. 3:04 p.m. A caller reported that a boat at the marina had been burglarized a second time. 4:04 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that an item had been stolen from his storage shed. 4:06 p.m. A caller reported a dead deer on a Rosburg road. 4:30 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that her home had been ransacked and burglarized. 5:45 p.m. A caller reported that her dog had been attacked by a neighbor’s dog on Puget Island.
March 6 — 1:20 a.m. A possible drunk driver was reported heading eastbound on SR 4 in the Flandersville area. 3:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident who was having breathing difficulties. 10:13 a.m. A caller reported a tree down in the Elochoman Valley area. 11:26 a.m. A caller reported that her dog was lost. 11:31 a.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on Puget Island. 2:18 p.m. A juvenile was taken into custody on Puget Island. 6:02 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a burglary. 9:00 p.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver heading westbound on SR 4 near County Line Park. 11:02 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked by the gas pumps at a Rosedale business.
March 7 — 8:27 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Skamokawa resident who had fallen. 10:56 a.m. A caller reported that several boats at the marina in Cathlamet had been burglarized. 2:36 p.m. A caller reported that kids on ATVs were playing chicken with vehicles and driving recklessly in the Skamokawa area. 3:21 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a small dog was lost. 6:41 p.m. The sheriff’s office was asked to make compassionate contact with a local resident after an accident in Oregon.
March 8 — 12:43 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the Cathlamet area. They were able to contain the fire within 20 minutes. 5:21 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that someone had broken into his truck and stolen his registration and insurance information. 7:08 p.m. A caller reported two cows in the middle of an Elochoman Valley road. An attempt was made to contact the person who was believed to be the owner. This person went to check on the cows and reported that though he was unable to secure them he had gotten them off the road. He also reported that the two cows did not belong to him. 7:30 p.m. A caller reported a truck without headlights was pulling a trailer in the Skamokawa area. 8:28 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that cows which had been found on the road in the Elochoman Valley earlier in the day and which were now on his property did not belong to him. He did not know who owned them.
