Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
February 23 — 11:12 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident. 2 p.m. A caller reported an aggressive dog in the Deep River area. 5:39 p.m. An individual with a warrant was taken into custody. 9:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa resident who had severe abdominal pain.
February 24 — 7:42 a.m. A caller reported debris on a Puget Island road. 8:51 a.m. A caller reported that four log trucks sped past a bus that had paused with its stop sign out. 9:12 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident who had some bleeding from recent surgery. 12:13 p.m. Vandalism was reported at a Cathlamet address. 1:53 p.m. A civil dispute was reported at a Rosedale residence. 2:19 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the Elochoman Valley. 3:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was experiencing swelling in one arm. 3:25 p.m. A caller reported seeing a car full of girls in the Rosedale area yelling at a pedestrian and then throwing something at her before driving away. 3:55 p.m. A welfare check was requested on a Rosedale resident. 7:49 p.m. Deputies arrested an individual who had a felony warrant out of Cowlitz County.
February 25 — 2:21 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that he had found a dog’s chew toy with nails driven into it in his yard. 3:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an ailing elderly Puget Island resident. 7:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who had become confused.
February 26 — 12:56 a.m. The Kelso Police Department asked the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Department to be on the lookout for an individual who was considered to be armed and dangerous and was wanted for assault. 6:31 a.m. A caller reported a possible burglary at a neighbor’s home. A deputy responded. 8:59 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident who was having a seizure. 10 a.m. A Grays River resident reported that someone was trying to open accounts in his name. 10:13 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a break-in and a missing cash box. 10:49 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported kids driving four wheelers on county roads. 11:37 a.m. A caller reported possible child abuse in the Alger Creek area. 2:28 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident was found deceased at home. 3:23 p.m. A caller reported a car in a ditch just west of Nassa Point. 5:08 p.m. A caller reported possible child abuse in the Alger Creek area.
February 27 — 3:30 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a light going on in the house next door every night. 9:28 a.m. A Little Cape Horn resident reported a fraudulent phone call from someone claiming to be from an internet provider. 1:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosedale resident who had fallen. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious man acting strangely in the Rosedale area. 5:25 p.m. A caller reported an abandoned vehicle in the Elochoman Valley. 5:56 p.m. A caller reported that a drunk and agitated person had gotten in a car and driven towards Puget Island. A deputy followed the car and saw no signs of impairment. 8:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an individual who was having a seizure.
February 28 — 2:58 a.m. Deputies, the Skamokawa Fire Department and the Skamokawa ambulance responded to the report of an accident just west of Skamokawa. Two individuals were detained. 3:18 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was having abdominal pain. 1:35 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported the theft of fishing and sporting equipment. 5:32 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after causing damage at a family member’s home. 8:54 p.m. A Skamokawa resident was concerned that a previous roommate who was at the residence to pick up his things was intoxicated and was spending more time rummaging than removing his things.
March 1 — 9:23 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Deep River home. 3:42 p.m. A caller stated that he had two days to move out of a residence in Skamokawa and was concerned that his ex-wife had shown up at the home because of a restraining order. He asked for two more hours at the home, but a deputy advised him to leave and set up another time. 7:53 p.m. A caller in Skamokawa reported that her husband was at her home removing property despite a restraining order. She wanted him to leave.
March 2 — 6:37 a.m. The Grays River Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at a church in the Rosburg area. After an investigation, the all clear was given.
