AAADSW offers workshops

The Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington is offering two free workshops in the near future.

The first is “Caring for Your Loved One at Home.” This workshop is for family caregivers and will be held on Tuesdays from February 17 through March 31, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Canterbury Inn Library, 1324 3rd Ave., Longview.

Learn about day to day care, lifting and moving a loved one, home safety, managing medications, nutrition, challenging behaviors, legal and financial issues, community resources and the importance of caring for the caregiver.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Respite services are available to those that register by February 10. For more information or to register call 360-577-4929.

The second workshop is “Living Well with Chronic Conditions,” to be held on Wednesdays, 1-3:30 p.m., March 4-April 8 at the Community Center, 101 Main St., Cathlamet.

This workshop will provide support, practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, better nutrition, exercise choices and more.
