Sunday night's rain storm dumped 2.5 inches or more on the Wahkiakum County and Naselle regions and caused a variety of flooding and slide problems.
The Grays, Naselle and Elochoman RIvers all went over their banks and flooded low areas.
Wahkiakum County Public Works Director Pete Ringen said there were small landslides on East Valley, Altoona/Pillar Rock, Oneida and Hungry Highway roads.
Ringen said flood water would have to recede off Loop Road so that the road crew could see if it had been damaged in the flooding.
"We'll be pursuing state and federal funds to defray the costs of repair and clean up," he said Tuesday. "Given the intensity of the event, we're feeling fortunate."
Meanwhile, a creek flowing into the Naselle River west of Naselle near the youth camp took out the culvert and pavement of SR 4, cutting the highway been Naselle and the SR 101 intersection at Johnson's Landing.
Small vehicles may use Parpala Road as a detour, but the state Department of Transportation is sending large vehicles down SR 101 to Megler and then back up SR 401 to Naselle and SR 4.
