Jon Griffin, Washington State University Master Gardener will present the following classes to enable participants to raise a successful garden. The first class will be held on February 17, 6 p.m., on Planning your Garden (soil management, garden layout, how to use the space sensibly). The next class will be March 22, 9 a.m., on Preparing your Garden (what to grow, starting seeds, how to plant early, when to plant, tilling the soil). The third class will be April 14, 6 p.m., Tending the Garden (caring for your plants, weeding, watering, mulching, when to harvest). May 12, 6 p.m., Fall Garden (extending your garden season, seed saving, cover crops, composting, winter gardening). The cost will be $10 (all family members) per class or $15 (all family members) for the series. The class held on March 22 is free. The program is sponsored by Washington State University Extension.
