The Wahkiakum Mule girls basketball team traveled to Adna last Friday and beat the Pirates 50-39.
Baylee Olsen led scoring with 13 points. Peyton Souvenir and Tori Wegdahl had eight points apiece and Sam Boyce and Kaylee Bryant had seven each. Maddie Mace added five points and Morgan Elliott had two.
“Offensively we weren’t as efficient as I expect us to be,” Coach Rob Garrett said, “but for a first game it was okay. Our team defense was really good for most of the game.”
“Anytime you can start the season off with a league win on the road, you have to be happy,” he added.
The team faced Pe Ell at home yesterday (Wednesday). No game report was available at press time. They travel to Winlock on Friday.
