Star program begins

The Star Program trees will be in place from November 17 through December 12. Anyone wishing to help can pick a star from the Star Trees at the Bank of America and Bank of the Pacific in Cathlamet, and the Duck Inn and Skamokawa Store in Skamokawa.

All gifts may be wrapped, and along with the star attached, be returned to where the star was taken, by December 15. Gifts will be sent to the recipients from December 16-19.

Stars that are not taken will be shopped for by program volunteers, using donations received. Monetary donations will be greatly appreciated and may be left at either bank or mailed to: Star Program, P.O. Box 276, Cathlamet, WA 98612.

The Star Program is for children up to and including the age of 17, whose families need a little extra help with Christmas gifts.

Applications for assistance will be accepted through December 5.
