Mule netters dump Loggers, T-wolves

The Wahkiakum Mule volleyball team won two more matches this week, making them 6-2 in league and 11-2 overall.

The Lady Mules beat the Lady Loggers in Onalaska in three sets on Monday, 25-19, 25-18, and 25-23.

Coach Kayli Hurley praised Savannah Burdick for her consistent serve receive. Burdick also had six digs. Coach Hurley also praised Makenzie Anderson who had seven kills and Morgan Elliott who had 15 assists.

Last Thursday, they traveled to Morton/White Pass and beat the Timberwolves in three sets, 25-15, 25-21, 25-9.

"It was a pretty well executed match for us overall," Coach Hurley said. "Offense was efficient across the board."

Tori Wegdahl had nine kills and Baylee Olsen had eight kills. Kennedi LaBerge added eight kills and five digs.

"Whitney Kuller and Sydney Hansen brought great fire and energy from our bench," Coach Hurley added.

The Mules celebrated their seniors and finished regular season play yesterday (Wednesday) at home against Winlock.

The district tournament begins on November 1. The Mules currently stand fourth in the Central League. Central 4 will play the second place team from the Northwest League at the school of the second place team from the Pacific League. They'll play a second game that day. If they move into the Consolation Bracket, they'd play 5:30 p.m. in Napavine, loser out. If they move into the winner's bracket, they'd play a semi-final game at Adna, also 5:30 p.m.
