The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership invites individulas and families to join volunteer planting opportunities this fall and winter.
Partnership members will be planting trees near creeks and water bodies to help restore habitat for salmon and other fish and wildlife.
Plantings are led by Partnership educators, and students can use these opportunities to earn required community service hours for school. All ages and abilities are welcome. Beverages and snacks are provided.
All plantings take place Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Planting dates and locations are:
October 11 - Salmon Creek, Vancouver.
October 25 - Salmon Creek, Vancouver (Salmon Creek Watershed Festival).
November 15 - Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Washougal.
January 19 - Benson State Park, Cascade Locks, Ore. (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service).
February 21 - Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Washougal.
February 21 - Meldrum Bar Park, Gladstone, Ore.
February 28 - Benson State Park, Cascade Locks, Ore.
March 7 - Benson State Park, Cascade Locks, Ore.
March 14 - Benson State Park, Cascade Locks, Ore.
