Advisory council seeking member from Wahkiakum

The Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington Advisory Council is looking for a member from Wahkiakum County to fill a vacancy in November 2014.

The Advisory Council is a group of dedicated volunteers representing older adults and adults with disabilities in the counties of Clark, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Skamania, and Klickitat.

Advisory Council members:

· Identify needs of older adults and adults with disabilities in their communities;

· Advise on services to meet those needs;

· Advocate on behalf of the people they represent.

The Advisory Council meets every third Wednesday of the month in various locations throughout the five-county service area. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Those interested in issues related to aging and long-term services and supports for seniors, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers are invited to join.
