Cranberrian Fair set for October 11 and 12

A celebration of local harvest including all things cranberry will take place on the Long Beach Peninsula, on October 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Foods, crafters, bog tours, and more will showcase the area’s rich heritage during this popular fair. Collectible Cranberrian Fair buttons are $5 each and cover admission to all events at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum. The Cranberry Museum is free.

As part of Cranberrian Fair activities, the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco will host a variety of vendors, offering handmade items such as pottery, jewelry, paintings, cranberry vine baskets, homemade peach/cranberry pies, and more. Demonstrations by the Clatsop Spinners and Weavers, the Peninsula Rug Hookers, the Peninsula Quilt Guild, blacksmith, Gary Lewis and other artists will take place throughout the day both Saturday and Sunday in the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum’s Demonstration Hall.

From the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, the Cranberry Trolley will whisk visitors to the Pacific Coast Cranberry Research Foundation and Cranberry Museum. The Cranberry Museum's gift shop is stocked with cranberry goodies. Watch the red berry harvest at the demonstration bogs and enjoy lunch provided by the Cove catering. Enjoy jazz, classical and other music by local pianist Tom Trudell.

The Cranberry Trolley runs from the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum to the Cranberry Museum from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., on Sunday. Space is limited and seating is on a first come first serve basis.
