Sunday fire burns Rosedale residence

The District 4 Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance were called out early Sunday morning when a structure fire was reported in the Rosedale area.

After more than two hours, fire crews were able to get the home, which had been fully engulfed in flames, under control, according to the Sheriff’s Report.

One person was transported to St. John Medical Center for an evaluation.

Because the fire is under investigation, James Wilson, District Chief for District 4 could only say,

“On Sunday, September 21, 2014, Wahkiakum Fire District No. 4 responded to a report of a structure fire at 388 East State Route 4 near Cathlamet. After several hours, the fire was brought under control and eventually extinguished. The cause of the fire was not immediately determined and is under investigation.”
