Wine tasting, auction to be held this Saturday

Friends of Skamokawa at Redmen Hall would like to give a final reminder that their yearly fund raiser/party- the wine tasting/auction event “A Cornucopia of Wines” will be held this Saturday at the Skamokawa Grange at 18 Fairgrounds Road in Skamokawa.

It will run from 6:30 to 10 p.m. and tickets at the door are $30 for two and $20 for singles. Included in the entrance fee will be tasting of eight choice wines, delicious finger foods provided by Jack and Jill catering, a silent auction of items contributed by local merchants, and a live auction with Brian McClain as auctioneer.

Some of the items include B&B getaway stays, kayak tour for two, Cannery Pier Hotel stay, original art by regional artists, hand-blown glass by Kyle Gribskov, a yacht cruise for 12, Crippen Farm Pizza dinner for eight, a custom made fishing rod, a day in Astoria and much more.

New this year will be pick up by the Wahkiakum Trolley at the Elochoman Marina at 5:30 p.m. and Vista Park at 6 p.m., with return trip after the event. Tickets for the ride will be $5 round trip.

Opening music will be provided by Jeff Fox and wife Jody. Fox has been performing for 50 years around western Washington and his wife has been singing with him for the last six years.
