Chris Hulings, Information and Assistance Specialist for Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington, has provided the following about her role in Wahkiakum County.
“I have an office space at Wahkiakum Health and Human Services and have worked there for approximately two years. I am here every other Monday, all day. Senior Information & Assistance is a free and confidential service for a wide range of public and private resources available to persons aged 60 and older, adults with disabilities, and their families. As an Information and Assistance Specialist I can provide services over the phone, by home visit, in person, by e-mail or regular mail.”
Functions of Senior Information & Assistance Specialist include: Caregiving resources; information giving; program outreach; support groups; service referrals assistance advocacy; housing options; home and health care options;adult/child protective services; medical and dental referrals; senior centers and activities; nutrition programs; transportation; eligibility screening for possible case management and care planning. Other services are available depending on need and request.
