A legislative candidate forum dedicated to aging policy issues and Washington’s readiness to meet the needs of the growing numbers of seniors in Washington state will be held September 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Gaiser Student Center, Clark College main campus, 1933 Ft. Vancouver Way, in Vancouver.
The forum will include a brief presentation from local seniors, family members, and consumer advocates, followed by a moderated discussion with invited legislative candidates and audience question and answer.
Senior citizen advocates, including AARP Washington, the ElderCare Alliance, the Washington Association of Area Agencies on Aging and the Washington State Senior Citizens’ Lobby will participate. Local candidates who have been invited or are committed to attend include Rep. Dean Takko, and candidate for Washington State Representative David Steenson.
Admission is free and doors open at 5 p.m. Seating is limited and the public is encouraged to RSVP in advance of the event at wolfekm@dshs.wa.gov.
