What's happening at the Fair?

News from the Wahkiakum County Fair

WOW! Only one more month until fair, I hope everyone has been getting things ready to enter at the fair. If you check out the fair book you will see we have some awesome entertainment coming to the fair this year. We have several new vendors and some special treats for the kids.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO Skamokawa Gardens for the donation of flowers to the Fair. They will make the grounds look beautiful. Also a thank you to the volunteers that are planting them.

Last week I said we had five young ladies running for the title of Wahkiakum County Fair Queen, we actually have six young ladies. You will see them at Bald Eagle Day selling fair passes and raffle tickets. Check out the fair booth and see what else they might have. All the money these young ladies raise helps put on the fair. This year’s fair royalty includes Tarah Wisner, Marci Dunham, Allison Kirby, Abby Eaton, Kyrah Scuito and Courtney Zurick. These young ladies have set a goal to beat last year’s total.

Also a BIG THANK YOU to the County Commissioners. This week will be the start of face lifts for the T-Building and Stage. So when you see the Commissioners be sure to thank them.

Along with that I once again will be asking for volunteers to help with the final touches on the fairgrounds before fair. I have two dates set for clean up days, so if you can spare a little time and don't mind getting dirty pulling weeds or scrubbing buildings we would love to have you. The dates are July 26 and/or August 2 from 9 a.m. until ?

Calling all Superintendents: I will be having a Superintendents’ meeting on July 23 at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds. It will be potluck so bring your favorite dish. Your boxes will be ready for you to go over and let me know if there is anything else you need. Hope to see you all here.
