Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Citizen pleads for community support

To The Eagle:

I am writing in regard to the need of items for the arts and craft room at the Finnish American Folk Festival held in Naselle. This room is for display of: needlework including quilts, woodwork, metal work, wreaths, candles, floral arrangements, birdhouses or any art or craft you may have.

These can be heirloom items or something recently made. Please attach information stating who made it and when (if applicable) and any other pertinent information.

We will be setting up on Tuesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 24 from 10-3. If you can not make it during that time please call me for arrangements.

There are two-hour openings for volunteers to man the arts and craft room on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26. The shifts are from: 10:00 to noon; noon to 2:00; 2:00 to 4:00 and 4:00 to 6:00 on both Friday and Saturday.

If we are unable to get items for display and volunteers to man the room, we will be unable to have the arts and craft room. So I am pleading with the community to help support this wonderful festival recognizing our Scandinavian heritage that has been in operation since 1980.

If anyone is interested in manning the room or have items to bring, please contact: Doris Busse at 360.484.3480 or email: busse@wwest.net.

Thank you for any support you can give and please feel free to pass this on to anyone who might be able to help man the rooms or have items to display.

Respectfully,

Doris Busse

Naselle
