Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
On June 21, five members of the Cathlamet Woman's Club donned orange vests and picked up litter along SR 4 west of Milepost 35. A passing motorist was so impressed that he stopped and handed one of them a folded green-back, which--upon close inspection, turned out to be a one hundred-dollar bill! Whoever said virtue is its own reward might have been a little off. Not only is the highway a little cleaner, but club coffers a mite more full! Pictured photo are, l-r, Carol Cole, Maureen Zacher-Bochius, Hannah Booth, and Louise Courtwright. Photo by Jean Burnham.
