Farmers market to reopen this Friday

Puget Island Farmers Market, formerly Two Islands Farm Market, will begin their ninth season this Friday, May 23 at Stockhouse’s Farm, 59 W. Birnie Slough Road on Puget Island.

Farmers Market hours are Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. through October.

Fresh Wahkiakum grown vegetables, cut flowers, veggie starts, perennial plants, artisan breads, local art, eggs from pastured chickens and USDA processed meats by the cut are available.

Vendors for opening day include The Farm at 172 (Chris and Margo Henry), Islands End Farm (Carol Carver and George Exum), Stockhouse’s Farm (Diane and Rob Stockhouse), Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce and several new vendors including Little Barn Farm (Patrick and Hollie McKay-Beach), Skamokawa Farmstead Creamery (Vickie Allenback and Kyleen Austin), Backwater Farm (Bruce and Desiree Craven), Blue Skies Farm of Puget Island (Mark Schmidt) and Wahkiakum Health and Human Services (Sheila Mace).

The Up-Beet Stage is ready for a new season with an Open Mic each Friday, and featured acts, all musicians welcome, a great sound system will amplify performers talents. This Friday Jerry and Becky Ledtke and the VIBES will be featured.

The trolley, Chief Wahkiakum, will run (weather permitting) from the Elochoman Marina to the Farmers Market, leaving the marina at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. on most Fridays if there are riders waiting at the Marina.
