Tawater one of four nurses honored by St. John

St. John Medical Center honored four nurses with Nursing Excellence Awards in celebration of National Nurses Week.

The nurses were nominated by their peers to recognize their nursing skills and compassion. The women received their awards last week.

Receiving awards were:

• Quality improvement — Emergency Department nurse Jodie Tawater, of Cathlamet.

• Advocacy for patients — Emergency Department nurse Paula Lombard.

• Leadership — PeaceHealth Medical Group Surgery Clinic nurse Kelly DeRosier, and

• Mentoring — Tammy Speed.
