The Wahkiakum Mules softball team traveled to Napavine last week for a doubleheader and lost 1-20 and 6-16.
The first game got off to a good start when Sam Boyce hit the ball to the fence, and a single by Kennedi LaBerge brought Boyce home.
Sydney Hansen also got a hit and “played a mean third base”, according to Coach Cindy Fudge.
“Game two was much better,” Fudge said. We lost, but it was still a good game.”
She praised the defensive play of Makinzi Anderson behind the plate, Boyce at shortstop and Hansen at third.
Boyce went 2-2 with an RBI. Pitcher Tori Wegdahl also went 2-2 and Anderson was 2-3.
The Mules will face Morton White Pass in a double header at home today (Thursday). They will begin play at 3 p.m.
