The Wahkiakum Mule Track and Field team traveled to Napavine last Thursday and joined five other teams for a 2B league meet. The boys’ team earned 30 points and came in sixth place. The girls earned 59 points and came in third.
Senior Austin Burns placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 25.73. Sophomore Carl Kolditz took fifth in both the 800 meters with a time of 2:36.65 and the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 20.16.
The team of Burns, Kolditz, Nevan Bingham and Ryan Quigley took fourth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 50.37.
Sophomore Gunnar Blix placed first in the shot put with a throw of 44’4.5” and first in the discus with a distance of 124’11”. Sophomore Ryan Quigley took first in the high jump, clearing 5’2”.
Sophomore Grace Peacock placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 14.07. Sophomore Tyra Elliott and freshman Cheyenne Barton tied for third with a time of 14.23. Peacock and Barton tied for first in the 200 meter race with a time of 29.67. Elliott ran 400 meters in 1:08.97 and took second. Freshman Shona Heywood, who wasn’t too far behind, placed fourth with a time of 1:10.73.
Freshman distance runner Kyrah Sciuto placed third in the 3200 meters with a time of 19:11.89. Junior Shelbie Abbot placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.01 and took fourth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.04.
The relay team of Shona Heywood, Rory Heywood, Peacock and Elliott placed first in the 4x100 with a time of 56.06 and first in the 4x200 with a time of 1:55.84.
Freshman Tarah Wisner placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 28’6” and sophomore Rory Heywood took first in the high jump clearing 4’6”.
Results for Tuesday’s meet in Naselle were unavailable at press time.
The team will travel to South Bend for a Pacific League Meet today (Thursday).
