Wahkiakum Mule basketball player Shane Souvenir has been honored for his outstanding performance this past season.
Souvenir, who moved into the post position for the first time this year, was a statistical leader in the Lower Columbia area. He averaged 22.5 points, 11 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game.
The 6'3" senior was named to the first-team all-Central 2B League team, and sports writers and editors from around the state named him the Class 2B League co-most valuable player.
Souvenir, who is legally blind in one eye, was selected to play in the Washington State Senior All-State Game on March 22 at King's Way High School and scored six points.
He was also selected to play in the Lower Columbia High School All-star game, in which he scored 14 points, and the Southwest Washington Senior All-star game at Centralia Community College, where he scored 17 points.
He is the son of Todd and Kristen Souvenir of Cathlamet.
