The Wahkiakum Mule golf team moved their intra-team season record to 12-3 with a 171-198 win at home over Adna on April 16.
Austin Good finished first in the 12 man field, shooting 39. Elliot Haney, 41, was second; Brady LaBerge had a personal best 44 and finished third. Zach Calvert shot 47 and Tanner Bergseng 62.
On April 21, the Mules shot 201 and moved their intra-team match record to 15-4 with wins over North Beach, 251, Raymond and South Bend, both incomplete, and a loss to Willapa Valley, 182.
After shooting 171 at home last April 16, the Mules dropped 30 strokes at Valley's home course, Willapa Harbor Golf Course. The ever consistent Austin Good had a tough day, dropping 11 strokes from last week to shoot 50. Haney, 45, finished third in the 22 man field while Zach Calvert, 48, tied for fourth. Brady LaBerge dropped 14 strokes from last week, shooting 58. Tanner Bergseng shot 70.
Our number one and four players dropped 25 strokes from the previous week. Hopefully we will improve in our last home match today (Thursday) at Skyline Golf Course when we play Adna and the same three teams from Willapa Harbor.
