Sheriff's Report, April 10, 2014

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

March 31 – 10:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to aid an ailing elderly man. 1:59 p.m. A Deep River resident complained about a barking dog. 4:06 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a suicidal individual. 8:18 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Rosburg residence to aid a young woman who was vomiting and had abdominal pain.

April 1 – 1:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident with chest pain. 7:08 a.m. An Elochoman resident reported seeing a strange vehicle parked across the street from home as well as receiving threats from a former boyfriend. 2:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident with complications from diabetes. 2:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Skamokawa residence to aid a woman with respiratory problems.

April 2 – 1:18 a.m. A Deep River resident requested a deputy after hearing a woman scream and a large disoriented man came to the door; one was taken into custody. 8:20 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman who was in pain. 12:27 p.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle over the fog line on SR 4 near the school access road. 1 p.m. A motorist complained about a skateboarder after almost hitting him on a Cathlamet street.

April 3 – 10:07 a.m. A welfare check was requested on an overdue individual. 11:56 a.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on SR 4 in the Rosedale area. 1:21 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on Puget Island. 1:27 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an elderly Grays River resident who had fallen and sustained a head injury. 2:02 p.m. A motorist reported that a logging truck had tried to run him off the road on SR 4 near Skamokawa. 3:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosedale resident who was very weak. 5:28 p.m. A door had been kicked in at a Puget Island home. 6:44 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident with heart problems.

April 4 – 9:07 a.m. An east county resident reported an unknown man on her deck. 5:47 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man in downtown Cathlamet with chest pain. 8:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident with respiratory problems.

April 5 – 8:58 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet residence to aid an ailing individual. 3:46 p.m. A caller reported an oil slick in Welcome Slough. 5:58 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was ill. 8:22 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported receiving a phone call that the shop door was open. When the resident investigated, she found the lock busted and the door pried open. 8:38 p.m. A welfare check was requested on an elderly couple who were not answering their phone.

April 6 – 12:03 p.m. A caller reported an eastbound vehicle speeding in the Cathlamet area. 3:11 p.m. A caller reported suspicious individuals dumping garbage into a creek. 5:15 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosburg resident. 7:02 p.m. An Alger Creek resident requested assistance after repeatedly and unsuccessfully asking a neighbor to keep a dog off his property. The dog has been damaging property and disturbing the owner’s animals. 7:52 p.m. A caller reported a man and woman in a parked car in the Rosedale area who were threatening two juveniles.
