Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
March 24 – 7:05 a.m. A concerned Puget Island resident asked deputies to check if the guns in his possession were stolen. 9:11 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to assist someone who was having complications from surgery. 9:36 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident. 3:39 p.m. Deputies assisted a Fish and Wildlife officer in removing an unwanted person on state access land on Puget Island. 4:23 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident. 7:44 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that someone had attempted to break into a shop on her property. 7:57 p.m. A caller reported that a suspicious person had been parked in front of a Rosedale business for two hours. 9:41 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a Cathlamet resident.
March 25 –7:15 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident who had suffered a stroke. 1:09 p.m. An assault was reported at Wahkiakum High School. 8:17 p.m. A power outage was reported in Grays River; the PUD was notified. 10:52 p.m. A caller reported a “menacing” dog in the Elochoman Valley.
March 26 – 12:32 p.m. A caller reported seeing several speeding vehicles in the Elochoman Valley. 1:27 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported an ailing Cathlamet woman to the hospital. 3:07 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a phone scam. 3:49 p.m. A vehicle pulled into the driveway at a Skamokawa home and when a resident came out, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. 4:09 p.m. A Skamokawa resident requested assistance with a juvenile who was “acting out.” 6:23 p.m. A caller reported an unknown man at the door of the local shelter. 7:07 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a dog attacked her dog.
March 27 – 10:53 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported being harassed by an ex-boyfriend. 11:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was feeling ill. 2:13 p.m. An East Valley resident reported that several people were trespassing on his property. 4:49 p.m. A caller reported seeing a man hunting from the back of a truck in a residential area on Puget Island. 5:06 p.m. A man was reported to be screaming and creating a disturbance at the public fishing parking lot on Puget Island. 5:23 p.m. A caller reported seeing a truck hauling a load of cedar in the Elochoman Valley.
March 28 – 8:16 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was having seizures. 9:29 a.m. A caller reported that traffic at an estate sale on Puget Island was causing congestion and that vehicles were parked over the fog line. 10:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was unconscious. 12:51 p.m. The Grays River ambulance and deputies responded to the report of a death at a Rosburg home. 2:28 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an ailing Rosburg resident. 3:56 p.m. A caller reported seeing two juveniles without helmets riding ATVs on the roadway in East Valley. 8:23 p.m. A caller reported a phone scam.
March 29 – 11:54 a.m. The report of suspicious activity at a Rosedale business turned up a report of a stolen vehicle from Port Orchard; three subjects were taken into custody and the stolen vehicle was towed. 7:25 p.m. A caller reported a dead horse and another emaciated horse and donkey at a Rosburg residence. 9:30 p.m. A caller from a Cathlamet business requested assistance with an individual who refused to leave.
March 30 – 6:48 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Puget Island resident who had fallen. 9:34 a.m. A domestic dispute led to charges of trespassing at a residence on the east end. 7:03 p.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a large fire in a barn in Middle Valley.
