Meetings planned about elk hoof rot

Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife officials and local boards and citizenswho are investigating the causes and possible cure of elk hoof rot will soon hold public meetings to discuss findings and gather more information.

Cowlitz County Commissioners will host a town hall meeting on March 27. Cowlitz County Commissioner James Misner will moderate the meeting with Mark Smith. Several panelists are being invited. The meeting will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Cowlitz County Conference Center located at 1900 7th Ave. Longview.

A second meeting is planned for April 2 in the River Street Building, Cathlamet, time to be announced.
