Sheriff's Report, March 6, 2014

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 24 – 12:30 p.m. A caller reported two dogs on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 2:21 p.m. A theft was reported at the Clear Creek Hatchery in the Elochoman Valley. 3:42 p.m. Gas was stolen from a vehicle at an Elochoman Valley home.

February 25 – 12:31 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet residence to assist with a lift. 5:55 a.m. Concerned for a pedestrian’s safety, a caller reported a man dressed all in black walking along SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 12:31 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a power outage; the PUD was notified. 1:41 p.m. A caller reported that a pitbull was chasing people and had cornered someone in the Rosedale area; further investigation revealed that the dog was a small terrier and not considered to be dangerous. 4:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to assist with a lift. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported seeing a possible drug deal. 9:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to assist with a lift.

February 26 – 7:50 a.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of a traffic accident on Puget Island. 9:07 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a family member. 6:11 p.m. A caller reported that two juveniles were missing. 6:58 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious male was wandering around the Rosedale area.

February 27 – 6:52 a.m. A caller reported seeing a truck pulling an older trailer full of kids on SR 4 near the school road in Cathlamet. 10:11 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on an individual who had been out of contact for three days and was not answering the phone. 2:27 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Deep River residence to aid someone with breathing problems. 2:56 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported the theft of a credit card and a forged check. 3:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to assist with a lift. 4:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to assist with a lift.

February 28 – 1:08 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that an intoxicated man had pounded on the door and then dropped his pants. He was looking for someone. He left on foot. 10:03 a.m. A concerned caller reported a man standing on the Puget Island Bridge staring out at the water. 10:14 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence to aid a woman who was having convulsions. 10:23 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported that someone had kicked in the siding on the house. 11:54 a.m. A resident reported that a neighbor had been taking his mail. 2:07 p.m. A resident reported that a neighbor had been taking his mail. 3:32 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported an assault. 5:47 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 8:43 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that two people with health issues were missing. 8:59 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a neighbor was firing a gun in his backyard. 10:23 p.m. A caller made a complaint about noise from a group of people at Vista Park in Skamokawa.

March 1 – 2:25 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance, the Cathlamet Fire Department and deputies responded to the report of a woman found walking in the Rosedale area. She was screaming and bleeding. 10:02 a.m. A Skamokawa resident complained that neighbor’s animals were destroying property. 3:29 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was all over the road on Puget Island.

March 2 – 2:31 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident with chest pain.
