Mule wrestlers win four district titles

The five man Mule wrestling team braved the weather on Saturday to compete at the District 4 Sub-Regional tournament at Ocosta.

Mules ripped through their weight classes and walked away with four district champions and one 2nd place. All five will move on to participate in the Regional tournament.

The boys received enough points to bring home the 3rd place trophy.

Mule champions are Junior Luke Stacey in the 126-lb. weight class, Junior Alex Johnson at 138-lbs., Senior Mason Mackey 145-lbs., and Junior Kody Vik who wrestled at 152-lbs. Junior Trystan Mendez received 2nd place at 182-lbs. All the boys wrestled hard and accumulated seven pins throughout the day.

Coaches Paul Johns, Matt Stacey, Keith Burns and Crystal Davis did a great job preparing these wrestlers for the post season competition. I believe we will see more medals at the Regional and State competitions.

Wrestlers will be traveling to Darrington on the 15th for Regionals. State tournament will be Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22.
