The bench got a lot of playing time on Tuesday night as the Lady Mules made quick work of a weakened Mossyrock team, winning 64-30. The Vikings struggled to perform with one of their best competitors out for the night.
Tori Wegdahl and Kaylee Bryant led scoring with 13 points apiece. Baylee Olsen added 12, and Sam Boyce scored eight. Savannah Burdick and Payton Souvenir added four. Jessica Thomas, Tyra Elliott, Marissa Longtain, Grace Peacock and Maya Stanley each had two points.
Bryant had nine rebounds and two steals. Wegdahl had four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Olsen had six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Sydney Hansen pulled down two boards. Peacock had one rebound and one steal. Burdick had one rebound and two steals. Elliott had two rebounds. Souvenir had one rebound, two assists and six steals. Stanley had four rebounds, two assists and five steals. Longtain had three rebounds and three steals. Boyce had one rebound, four assists and four steals and Thomas had three rebounds.
The Lady Mules shot 47 percent from the free throw line and 32 percent from the floor.
“I thought the girls worked the whole time, they didn’t give up or slow down,” Coach Rob Garrett said. “We made a lot of good baskets. We just got to make lay ups. There were a couple possessions where we missed six lay ups. It’s all mental.”
Wegdahl went down with an injury in the third quarter and her status as of Tuesday night remains up in the air.
The Lady Mules face the undefeated Central League leader Toutle Lake tonight at home. It is the team's final home game; district tournament play starts next week.
