Johnson wins rubber chicken at Kalama Tourney

Mule Wrestlers had three top placers when they attended the 16 man bracket Rubber Chicken tournament in Kalama on Saturday.

Alex Johnson won first place at 138 lbs. and brought home a rubber chicken this week with three wins over Montesano, Castle Rock and Hoquiam. He had a bye for match one. Match two was a technical fall win in the second round, 16-1. Alex then had a points win, 13-2, and finished it off with a pin in the championship round to take first.

Mason Mackey got third place at 145 lbs. Mason’s first match was also a bye and then a win by points, 12-0, against Hoquiam in the second match. Match three was a loss by points, 9-4, to Castle Rock. The last match for third place was a win against Ocosta by pin in round one.

Trystan Mendez got second place at 182 lbs. Again match one was a bye and then he won match two with a pin in round one against Ocosta. The third match with a Kalama wrestler was a win by pin in round two. Trystan’s championship match was a loss against Castle Rock by a third round pin.

Trynity Mendez had three tough matches and wrestled hard.

On January 25, the Mules will compete at the RA Long Lumberjack Classic tournament in Longview.
