Former Puget Island resident Patricia Ann Reese died December 31, 2013 in Rockport, Tex. She was born on February 26, 1942 in Vancouver, to Harry Kerr and Beatrice Blandine Cross.
Patricia graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from Clark Junior College. She worked in banking until she married Larry Reese in 1966 where she supported her husband in graduate school at the University of California at Berkeley. They joined the Peace Corp in 1967 to 1968 and served in North West India.
Pat worked part time in banking from 1968 to 1972. She went to work for Physio-Control in 1973 and from 1987-1997 she worked for Microsoft retiring at age 50 as Manager Accounts Receivable Department. She also served on several boards and as treasurer of the gift shop and manager of Friends of Skamokawa’s Redmen Hall. She also served as treasurer and past president of the Cathlamet Woman’s Club.
In 1998 Pat received a kidney transplant and after her transplant she traveled extensively in both Western and Eastern Europe. She crossed to Hawaii, South America, Tahiti, the North Sea, and the inland rivers of Europe from Amsterdam to Russia. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and the World/U.S. histories. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family, and many friends throughout the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janice Edwards. She is survived by her husband, Larry L. Reese of Rockport, Texas and Puget Island; brother, John Cross of Vancouver; and two sisters, Mary Cross of Vancouver, and Dina Cross of Sacramento, Calif. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes & Crematory in Rockport, Tex.
