Johnny Fritzie, 80, lifelong resident of Puget Island and Longview, died on December 13, 2013 at Hospice Care Center. Johnny was born in Portland, Ore., on July 27, 1933 to Nogi and Rae (Petersen) Fritzie.
Johnny worked for the Longview School District as a groundsman for many years and eventually retired from there. He was well loved at his work and a caring, generous man to those who knew him. He rarely met a stranger.
In 1999 Johnny was preceded by his wife Anne Fritzie. He is survived by four step daughters, Janet VanFossen, Susan Kinnison, Nancy Jones and Eloise Wagner. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Fritzie of Longview, five grandchilden, a niece and a nephew.

Visitation will be Friday, December 20 from 9 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at Dowling Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
