Central League football coaches have announced the results of their all-league voting, and several members of the Wahkiakum Mule team were honored.
Named to the first team offense was senior lineman Dylan Hansen. Named to the second team offense were sophomore quarterback Gunnar Blix, junior wide receiver Brandon Budd and senior lineman Shane Souvenir.
Named to the second team defense were defensive linemen Blix and Hansen, junior linebacker Trystan Mendez and senior defensive back Austin Good.
Receiving honorable mention on offense were senior running backs Good, Nathan Cothren and Mason Mackey, lineman Mendez, and senior wide receiver Seth Doumit.
Receiving honorable mention on defense were senior lineman Brandon Burdick and linebacker Mackey.
Defensive player of the year was Morton/White Pass senior Ben Powell. Offensive player of the year was senior Rylon Kolb, also of Morton/White Pass. Josh Fay of Napavine was named coach of the year.
During the regular season (eight games) Cothren gained 535 yards for the Mules on 63 carries, an average of 8.49 yards; he scored eight touchdowns. Good gained 426 yards on 64 carries, an average of 6.65 yards, with six touchdowns. Mackey gained 563 yards on 84 carries, averaging 6.7 yards, and scoring seven touchdowns. Blix gained 266 yards on 51 carries, averaging 5.21 yards, and scoring five touchdowns.
In nine games, Blix completed 63 of 103 passes for 1,063 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
Leading tacklers were (primary/assist) Blix 53/37, Mackey 40/32, Mendez 40/29, Travis Wegdahl 24/33, Souvenir 23/30 and Cothren 29/28.
