Sheriff's Report, December 5, 2013

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 25 – 8:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Puget Island resident who had fallen. 9:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the Family Health Center to transport a patient to the hospital. 9:45 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Elochoman resident with a cut on his head. 10:55 a.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department responded to a sewer alarm in East Valley. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported that their former spouse is not following a parenting plan. 5:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was having difficulty breathing. 8:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident with chest pain. 8:21 p.m. The Puget Island fire department responded to aid a Puget Island resident with chest pain.

November 26 – 7:12 a.m. A caller reported icy roads and a one vehicle accident with possible head injury in the Elochoman Valley; the Cathlamet ambulance, the county road department and District 4 fire department responded. 10:29 a.m. The sheriff’s office received a tip about threats to the President; the FBI and Secret Service were notified; the suspect was contacted in Washougal. 1:37 p.m. A caller reported a drunk driver; deputies were unable to locate the suspect. 3:23 p.m. A caller reported that two grade school students were harassed by a high school student; one was assaulted. 5:19 p.m. A motorist reported a dead deer in the roadway on SR 4 near the Cathlamet school road; state patrol was notified. 6:55 p.m. The chipper at the Deep River Log yard was reported to be on fire; deputies, the Grays River Fire Department, and the Grays River ambulance responded.

November 27 – 1:17 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported that his girlfriend had pushed him and flattened tires on a vehicle. He requested an emergency protection order; a deputy responded. 7:58 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported that his girlfriend was “trashing the bedroom” while preparing to leave; a deputy responded. 1:31 p.m. A caller reported an injured deer on SR 4 just west of Skamokawa; Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) was notified. 3:04 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle with a trailer was speeding on Puget Island; deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 3:07 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported hearing shots fired; deputies were unable to locate anyone with a firearm in the area. 5:47 p.m. A caller reported that an elk had been hit by a vehicle.

November 28 – 9:04 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that hunters had shot an elk while trespassing on property. 10:58 a.m. A caller reported a rollover accident in East Valley. 10:59 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported the violation of a restraining order and theft of tools; a deputy responded. 4:54 p.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle on SR 4 on the Elochoman flat; state patrol was notified. 5:30 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that a suspicious person approached the house and then left; a deputy was advised. 10:42 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a burglary; a deputy responded.

November 29 – 8:36 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a violation of a restraining order. 11:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident with a headache and chest pain. 11:59 a.m. A motorist was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

November 30 – 1:21 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported an assault; a deputy was advised. 11:25 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a boat has been repeatedly speeding past their home, causing wave action to boats and a dock. The caller reported that the boater was hunting on the slough and had done so in the past; a deputy was advised. 5:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a person with a laceration to a finger at the marina. 7:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a baby on Puget Island who may have a broken arm. 8:50 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a possible drunk driver; deputies located and took the driver into custody.

December 1 – 8:05 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 2:44 p.m. A caller reported a tree in the roadway in Rosburg; county road crew responded. 7:13 p.m. A caller reported rocks in the roadway on SR 4 near Nassa Point; state patrol was advised.
