Naselle resident expresses appreciation

To The Eagle:

My husband, Bjarne and I had the pleasure of attending the “Living Well in Wahkiakum County” convention at the Grays River Valley Center in Rosburg on November 20. We had a very pleasant time, as did our daughter, Lisa Nortrup, and our granddaughter, Grace.

We were all impressed by the professionalism of the layout and the abundance of information and materials offered to visitors.

There were samples and prizes offered, in particular those relating to emergency preparedness, but there were many information booths about community services, health centers, retirement centers, food banks, and a local farm sold its produce.

There was a great deal to see and do, filling the meeting rooms, halls, library, cafeteria and gymnasium fully. All guests were treated to a lovely free soup and bread luncheon. We were impressed that there was a vegetarian offering, a rarity in most functions, but a real treat to the three of us that are vegetarian. There was also a wide array of delicious looking cookies and nut breads for guests to enjoy.

The atmosphere was very pleasant and appealing, and the GRVC was uniquely suitable for such a large gathering. We want everyone involved with this community offering to know that their hard work and effort was very much appreciated. Thank you all.

Katherine Rostad, Naselle
