Gary L. Huber, 69, of Cathlamet, died on November 25, 2013 in Portland. Gary was born on November 2, 1944 in St. Maries, Idaho. He was a long time Cathlamet resident.
Gary joined the Army and spent time in Vietnam. He was a commercial fisherman on the Columbia River and in Bristol Bay, Alaska for all of his working years. Gary also worked on projects for soil conservation for several years.
On July 15, 1972 he married Betty Czarnecki and they had two daughters. He enjoyed sport fishing and was a member of the Wahkiakum Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Gary is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters Debbie (Brandon) Chamberlain and Jennifer (Ty) Norris; two grandchildren, Justin and Laura Norris; two brothers, Lenny (Peggy) and Mike (Leah) Clark; a sister, Jackie (Billy) Frazier and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Evelyn Clark.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held at the J.A. Wendt Elementary School in Cathlamet on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. Memorial donations in Gary’s name may be made to Cathlamet First Aid Division, P.O. Box 142, Cathlamet, WA 98612.
