Fair Board’s Annual Turkey Bingo
Grab your lucky charms as it’s time for the Fair board’s annual Turkey Bingo. Scheduled for this Friday, November 22 from 6 p.m. at the Julius A. Wendt Elementary School in Cathlamet. Bring the whole family for an evening of fun. Big prizes are on offer for this year’s raffle or you can try and win a turkey or ham. This annual event raises money for the next year’s fair and is managed by volunteers. For more information contact the Fair office at 795-3480.
New Community Learning Center
The end of Main Street has been a hive of activity as the new Community Learning Center takes shape. This collaborative project between the Town of Cathlamet, WSU Wahkiakum County Extension and Wahkiakum Community Network will provide our community with a new library upstairs while downstairs will be the new community learning center. In the next few weeks the finishing touches will be applied including setting up a kitchen and installing new computer learning stations donated by SW Washington Workforce Development Council, Lower Columbia College and Washington State University. St James Holiday Gift Fair
Get a head start on your holiday shopping at this Saturday’s St. James Holiday Gift Fair. Fun for all ages; stop in from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. James Family Center and enjoy handmade gifts, a bake sale featuring Scandinavian goodies, and much more. 9th Annual Wahkiakum Festival of Trees
Get ready to party as this Saturday, marks the 9th Annual Festival of Trees. Visit the lobby of Bank of Pacific in Cathlamet to place your bid on holiday trees, wreaths centerpieces and gingerbread houses. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Chamber for future holiday decorations. Redmen Hall Annual Holiday Open House
Starting November 29 and running through to December 1, Redmen Hall will be hosting their Annual Holiday Open House. Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy refreshments and live music by local artists while shopping their wide range of handmade gifts. There are many items to choose from including collectibles, holiday decorations and autographed books. Redmen hall is located in Skamokawa at 1394 W. SR 4. For more information call 795-3007.
The Longview Artisan Guild Winter Faire
If you love handcrafted items you won’t want to miss next week’s Winter Faire hosted by the Longview Artisan Guild. For two days only, the Artisan Guild will display and sell their work which includes stained glass, photography, jewelry, wood carving and more. Open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Thursday the 5th and Friday the 6th of December, stop in at Cassava’s located on the corner of 14th and Broadway in Longview to take advantage of this unique sale. Donations of cat or kitten food and new or useable towels will be accepted for the Humane Society. The Video Store Back to Winter Hours
Now that we’ve switched our clocks backward The Video Store has changed to its winter hours. Open Sunday through Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., check out the wide selection of blockbusters, miniseries and classic movies available. For a limited time select Antiquity and Collectible Glassware will be 50% off. There are also VHS copies available at the bargain price of $2 each or three for $5.
